Sarah Kollé is a freelance singer and curator based in Leipzig. From 2014 to 2016 she was a member of the Swiss Opera Studio. In 2021 she completed her Meisterklasse diploma with distinction at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig.

Alongside her work as a singer, she increasingly develops her own artistic projects that engage with current social issues. Contemporary music plays a central role in this context. Important impulses came from the Darmstädter Ferienkursen für Neue Musik (2018), Tage für neue Stimmkunst in Stuttgart with Angelika Luz (2020) and the Masterclass for contemporary Music in Halberstadt with Sarah Sun (2021).

In addition to numerous experiences as a soloist in the operatic repertoire — among others with the Junge Norddeutsche Philharmonie and at the theatres in Dessau and Nordhausen — she also performs frequently in concert settings, including appearances at the Berliner Philharmonie, the Gewandhaus zu Leipzig, and the Konzerthaus Berlin. Increasingly, she seeks closeness to the audience and explores ways of creating spaces for dialogue within music theatre. In this context, the interactive performance LICHT_22 at the Bright Festival in Leipzig and Opera where it doesn’t exist, conceived as an interface with scientific research, have played an important role. She is also a regular guest at chamber music festivals in Germany and abroad, including the Lavatertage Zürich, the Talis Festival & Academy (Sarajevo), and the Schiermonnikoog Festival in the Netherlands.

 

To support her artistic perspective with a scholarly foundation, she has been studying Cultural Management since 2023 at the KMM Institute of the University of Music and Theatre Hamburg. She is also active in cultural policy networks advocating for independent music theatre and addresses organisational structures in the freelance scene in her academic work. She is the co-founder and artistic director of the Schlosskonzerte Oranienburg and maintains a close collaboration with the werkbühne leipzig.
